Something New In Here
Thursday, December 22, 2005
Nope, it's not about a new Apprentice who was hired by Martha Stewart last night. I am glad, anyway, she did a right choice to have Dawna being her Apprentice for the first time. As I said previously, she is way more capable in leading the business than Bethenny who is actually good in art & creative work but lack of leadership and teamwork spirit.
Well, a new thing I'd like to talk about here is my new design. It's clear to see now that the theme is about winter time and celebrating Christmas. Hope anyone out there enjoy this winter and holiday season as well as I do.

The Apprentice - TrumpSeason Finale
As previously posted, the final two was going to receive their final task. Here is the task:
Rebecca was to run the Yahoo! All-Star Comedy Benefit with host Joe Piscopo to raise money for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. Randal was to manage the Outback Steakhouse VIP Softball Challenge, a high-profile ball-game for celebrities, to raise money for Autism Speaks. (nbc)
Rebecca chose 3 teammates under Capital Edge, while Randal and his 3 teammates worked for this final task under Excel. Good choice! Based on past records, Excel won the competitions more than Capital Edge did. In the end both had done the tasks pretty well. However, the judges in boardroom would determine whether the charity events they run for final task have reached its goal or not.
I would say Randal's task was way more riskier than Rebeccas because the event was involving outdoor activity, ball-game in this case. Unfortunately, he didn't set up a plan B at the beginning to anticipate bad weather. I worried, at this point, he might have lost. Randal, anyway, had to come up with a Plan B on the spot when he found out the weather report was not looking good - 75% chance of rain all day . He knew he had to bring the benefit inside and into the clubhouse. They also decided to cut the silent auction and proceed only with the live version. Annoying question "Why you didn't check the weather forecast?" came from Carolyn that she kept questioning even minutes before the final decision. Gosshh, don't you understand one factor nobody could not control in the business world is weather! Let me ask you Carolyn, what will you be doing to control the weather if you were Randal at the time? I know the answer would be "I would cancel it and move the event to another day!" Excuse me, will you give him a chance to do that way?Rebecca and Yahoo executives set objectives striking a balance between raising money in the VIP reception and in the general crowd for the comedy show. Unfortunately, the crowds preferred enjoying the comedy show downstairs instead of staying around VIP room.
This method she called a forward manner to ask for donations originally came up from yahoo executives. Unfortunately Trump fired back that she is the one, the leader who should have decided which way they would like to do the fund-raising. Anyhow, Trump gave a compliment "Rebecca... you're outstanding." But then he turned back to Randal with the magic words, "Randal... you're hired!" Congratulations dude! You deserve it.

Who would be the winner?
Friday, December 16, 2005
Looking out the window, I found the weather today was somewhat calm and much better than a whole day nasty-wintry mix we got yesterday. Yeah, I was supposed to go to my English class in the morning and church choir practice in the evening but all had been cancelled due to this bad weather.
In re-run of The Apprentice - Martha I watched last night, the weirdo Jim was finally sent home. Between the final two Dawna vs Bethenny, I expect Dawna to win the final competition because she is way more manageable. Well, I might be wrong.. who knows? I know everyone of Martha's executives felt favorably toward Bethenny but I keep sticky on Dawna no matter what.Donald Trump has a new apprentice aired last night, unfortunately I haven't seen the final show yet. Although the rerun will be on tonight by CNBC, we taped the last night show in case we would miss to watch it tonight.

Review: The Apprentice - Martha StewartEpisode 11
In the morning, the teams met with Martha via video conference to get their next task. Martha instructed them to create a 30-second in-flight video for Song Airlines, an airline that is innovative, high class, and has low fares. A plane full of Song Airlines' frequent fliers would judge which video was the most effective in promoting the $99 flight from New York to Los Angeles. (nbc)
Matchstick came up with the idea of depicting a baseball player missing his team flight and having only $100 to get to Los Angeles for a game. Primarius's video showed a couple of kids were saying "Song Airlines" once the parents asked which airlines they'd like to fly and flashed the cheap ticket as of $99 many times. As judged by the Song frequent fliers, Matchstick had a result of average score 2.8, meanwhile Primarius took an average score of 4.2 which brought them as a winner. The show ended up with Martha saying goodbye to both Ryan and Marcela. This episode was also the final episode for Matchstick because none of members stayed around for next task. Don't know either unlucky factor or incompetent team members, they lost the competition 3 weeks in a row.Among any other episodes, this show I have to say I don't like the most. Why? If we notice their videos in promoting the cheap ticket of Song Airlines, neither of them really sent a clear message. Doesn't it look ridiculous to see a baseball player who only has 100 bucks in his pocket? What about using a credit card? He needs to fly to LA to play baseball. It means he is a good, popular or famous baseball player that he would travel for inter-state games. On the other hand, the Primarius brought the message through the kids. Isn't that odd to see children love to travel with their favorite airlines? Seems the kids do the travel a lot just like businessmen or business women usually do. They should have stressed the point such as high class service with low fares, or the fastest transportation of any other transportation like vehicles, bus, trains, etc. Everyone of the tv viewers, I believe, understand exactly how cheap $99 ticket is to get airlines from New York to Los Angeles. Oh well, It's just another reality show you have right to like or dislike it.

What I don't like about snow is it requires me to shovel those nasty-white-frozen-ice that would coat all over my car ..whoops my truck I mean (too good to call my truck as a car).. every time I need my truck to go out somewhere.Yeah, I was late for short choir practice before mass yesterday because I had to get rid of the snow from my truck before heading off.
When entering the music room, I thought I was getting into a wrong room to find many kids singing along together. My eyes was rolling fast to catch up the people I've been familiar with, Patty and three male adults in the corner. Also it had confirmed me that I was in the right room. Diane the music director didn't tell us we were going to sing with children choir that Sunday. It was fun though! A good thing is I wore black-stripped white skirt and dark grey blazer which coincidentally looked sort of uniform with the kids who were told before to dress white on top and black skirt for girls or black pant for boys.
On our close-end song, the kids sang a song and clapped their hands as well to follow the music rhythm. We, the adults, understood that the kids were just excited in hands-clapping instead of singing the end song, so we did singing the best we could, trying not to mess the song itself. At the end of the mass, the congregations gave credit to our choir, especially the children choir, by still-staying around before the song ended up and last but not least giving a very merry applause.

Ready For Christmas?
Tuesday, December 06, 2005
Absolutely! I have all my Christmas shopping done by end of November. Yes, it's just my strategy to stay away the crowd and the frantic days in doing this shopping during the holidays. I started looking for the presents 3 months ago and buying them one by one. By doing this way, I can manage my time real well to put all stuff I plan to buy into shopping list and to schedule my trips going to several stores. Don't you think it is such a smart tip? Here they are.. the Christmas giveaways!

All is worth It In The End
Monday, December 05, 2005
Black Friday? Yeah, usually bad things came across my mind when someone was asking me "Are you ready for black Friday shopping?" These past years I've never been interested in doing shopping on black Friday considering I have to get up early in the morning,
join the crowd into the line, get angry to see people who break the line, or fight with people who might take the only one-left-stuff I need to buy. This time I had to go through all that way to get cookware I'd like to have for my Christmas presents from Hubby and to buy a new microwave in order to replace our broken-old-microwave.That day I woke up at 5 am and left the house alone at 5.30 am when the temperature was about 15-19s. A good thing is I bundled up all myself with complete winter suit including gloves and hat to get comfortable from terrible-cold-weather. Therefore I didn't get freezing so badly, though I still felt cold a little bit.
The other good thing is I saw not many people getting into line once I arrived at the mall. The best thing is I found the microwave I needed to buy was not in favor by the crowd so I could get mine easily. However, the trouble began when I finished checking out. Yeah, I had no idea how to lift up this purchased microwave and carry out to my car. Absolutely I didn't think about that in the beginning. The problem is I couldn't find one empty shopping cart and all the store helpers seemed busy with customers who were asking that and this. Without thinking any longer and spending my time useless, I pushed the microwave by kicking it ahead little by little.
Whohoo I did it from first floor to second floor and ended it up to the front door. I took the car and drove it to the front door right close to the microwave, then another problem came up.. yeah I had to load the microwave into the car; my goodness that microwave weighs about as much as I do. Thank God it didn't cause me back pain. I couldn't believe I was a strong woman ever at the moment.I took the car back to parking lot and guess what? I walked back to the mall ..yup shopping again hihihi. I bought the cookware I needed at Hecht's and some winter accessories at my favorite fashion store.
Funny, the guy in fashion store recognized me shopping there twice within 2 hours. With his big smile he greeted me "back again, huh!" Oh well, I can't help myself being not tempted to stop by this store which I claim as my favorite fashion store just like the one I used to go in Jakarta, my hometown. It sells all my kind clothes which I would say their cutting really fit unto my petite size and what more should you get from this store except the affordable price. Let's count how much money I save from black Friday shopping; $70 from microwave and $80 from cookware; totally I save $150.. yeeHa! The fruit you can get from my story is "Be a smart shopper!"
